Background:
We are the original owners of this car. We have really enjoyed
the
Beetle, but decided a four door vehicle was necessary after our
daughter was born.
This car has been garaged probably about 50% of the time during the
evening/nights. We do not smoke, and the Beetle was my wife's car
and
she
is a very tidy person and kept the car super clean inside and
out. For the last several years my
wife's work has only been a few miles from home, hence the low mileage.

We recently (February 2004) had the car serviced at the VW
dealership where the vehicle was inspected, oil changed, etc. The
driver side window regulator was
upgraded &
fixed under a factory recall
warranty -- this is actually good because a poorly designed weak
part
is replaced with a better designed part, the extended window
regulator warranty is only for 7 years, so if your window fails after
that time you will be stuck with a hefty bill. At the same time
the dealer thoroughly checked the car and performed general maintenance
and factory recall services.
